The Random Peach

INDIA ALERT!!!
Weel, she's is over half way through her time in India. She mainly talks about the heat on her blog but she seems like she's having a blast. However, I'm afraid she might adopt their swimsuit styles over here...But she's coming back Sunday and I can't wait to here her stories!

I knew this day would come...the day I don't have anything to blog about...(wow, that was fast...) I WOULD do fan mail but that would require fans to write mail or at least comment on my posts!!! Oh well, people these days...
Anywho, so I grabbed an application from the Habersham YMCA to apply to be a lifeguard. My first job EVER!!! So far I see no problems except...
- I have no job experience.
- I have never been employed.
- Worries about my salary...
- I'm not sure about this whole "background check" thing.
- They're very uptight about being a "legal citizen".
- They may have to wait a while on my social security.
- Would it be to presumptuous to put $15 an hour for a salary?
- Maybe lying about my age isn't a good idea.
- Should I put procrastinating under "skills"?
- What about annoying my sister? Would that count?
- Again, about my salary.....

Other than those little speed bumps, I'm good right?
Right?
....

I think I have a pretty good chance! (Confidence counts for something!) And the fact that I live so close may be a good factor. Either way I'm super excited. If I get it, it would be my first job ever, which sounds really exciting! (until you screw up...) But I'm going to fill it out tonight hopefully and turn it in tomorrow. (promptness!) And maybe an interview will follow, which you will totally here about!

But it's getting to be that time of night...
That times were my eyes get droppy, my brain stops thinking of things to say, my hands start typing slowly, and when I remember I have homework due tomorrow so....
Here's more culture for your development...

Your welcome. :)

Dead Peach

Lazy Blogger Syndrome Alert!!!
It seems as if this case has taken a turn for the worst. We might have to send her to a specialist. (By her, I mean me!!!)

Anyway, after Florida, I had lifeguard training! I'm going to be a lifeguard! Woo-hoo!!! I get to save lives! I can have an awesome summer job and make lots of money! Hooray!!!
But no guys, this is serious stuff. This is alot to learn and only a little time to learn it. So after getting home late on Saturday night. I thought it was a good idea to go to bed early and get a good nights sleep, after having been deprived one in Florida, so I will have energy for the next day...I said I thought it was a good idea; didn't exactly happen that way. Staying up until 12 that night and having to get up at 7 wasn't a good way to start up the morning. And after not having ANY coffee that morning, things were not up to a good start. I'm suprised I survived that day. But after almost FREEZING into oblivion, swimming all day long, and going to the beach that afternoon, it wasn't suprising that I crashed when I got home at 5:30 until 10. Then I stayed up until 1, another brilliant idea, considering the fact that I had lifeguard training AGAIN in the morning. Luckily, I had coffee today and no school, which is always a great mix. But now, I am EXHAUSTED!!! As soon as I am done with this I am heading straight to bed. All the more reason to wrap it up. But of course, being the awesome blogger I am, I'm not leaving you without some critical knowledge that is crucial to know....

yes, it's very funny....

Best Wishes,

Back in the Peach

I'm home!!!
(Pause for "welcome back" 's, and "we've missed you and your blog" 's)

What? No hugs?

Anywho. So Orlando was great! Our chiors all one first place in the competition! I got to enjoy two theme parks! Blue Man Group was AMAZING!!! AND (big emphasis) I got to see the guy from The Blind Side!!! (yes, the football player...) I highly recommend you go to Islands of Adventure because it's kinda awesome! The rides were fast, scary, and for the most part the lines were SHORT today, which was very suprising! I got soaked by the water rapid ride (say that 10 times really fast...) so I also recommend you wear your suit...
And Blue Man Group was so incredible! The music was great! The theatrics were hilarious! And the interaction that they had with the audience was phenominal! They had strobe lights, dancing, and rolled toilet paper over the audience! (Don't ask...) I felt strongly compelled to turn myself into an Avatar and get up there with them! It was pretty incredible!
The entire trip was great. Pretty well planned and no major problems. I'm very glad I went!

And now, I must shower. Because, I have lifeguard training in the morning, (yes, I'm getting certified baby!) and I need to be fresh faced and clean (appreciated by most...) so I must end here with a...wait...Saturday Night Live is starting...See ya!!!

With many wishes of joy,
:)

Peaches on the Road

INDIA UPDATE: She made to Dubai safe and today they had a scavenger hunt with the kids! Awesome, right?! I wonder how jet lag is affecting her...Thanks for your prayers everyone!

Well tomorrow, we're hitting the road! Orlando, Florida to be exact. So how crazy does the school sound for taking 100 kids to 2 theme parks for 2 days? Just a little...but the choir department is performing in a competitionon Friday and everyone is super stoked! Now it's ablut 9:00, I haven't packed anything, there is laundry to be done, and I have homework to do (along with fitting a shower into there somewhere.). Now some people may think that procrastinating comes easily, however, they are amatuers. I have made procrastination into an art-form. You would be amazed at my skill of procrastinating. The highest level, I'm sure. Hmmmm...maybe writing a blog post at the moment isn't a good idea...oh well...it's good for my street cred. Anywho I really am making this one short, though. But first, I must share this hilarious video with you. (A.K.A. I have nothing else to write about!)

Florida here I come!,

Wishing you well, :)

Old Peaches

Oh, no. I already missed a day. First symptom of "Lazy Blogger Syndrome". It's highly contagious amoung new bloggers and we have not found a direct cure. Pray for me!

Any-who...So yesterday I met up with some old friends that have recently moved to Geneva, Switzerland. Yes. GENEVA, SWITZERLAND!!! In teen language, "Like a gagillion miles away." or "Like FOREVER away!" But they came back to Savannah for their Spring Break over at International school. (Where they apparently "hate" Americans? What's up with that?!) I heard story after story of how "awesome Europe is" and how much he "loves it there" and how I "have to see Europe" because it's "sooo much better than the U.S. " But he can't fool me! I can see through those lies. He is silently crying out for help! "Save me from Europe! The Swiss Chocolate! The French food! The art! The culture! The WOMEN! Help meeee!" He is dying, slowly but surely. He needs to move back ASAP! I mean think about all he is missing in the U.S.?......wait.......it'll come to me................
Anyway, it was great to see him! And we had a good time and I'm glad to see Europe hasn't changed him TOO much! Now about that plane ticket to Switzerland.....

So that making up for yesterday, I'll get to today.
On a more serious note, we did lose a great person today. Another precious teen life was taken...
http://savannahnow.com/latest-news/2010-04-06/update-teen-killed-truman-parkway-crash
Please keep his family and friends in your prayers. Something, we don't understnd why these things happen, how God can allow such a horrible thing to occur and sadly, we may never know. But it's times like these that remind us of how really connected we all are. The saying "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone..." is NOT true. At least I don't see it that way...

Now on a lighter note, I thought I might share this with you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJOnLGnz-2U
(You've got to turn the volume up a little high on this...)
Yeah...still thinking about what he's missing in the U.S......wow, must be a brain fart....sea biscuit...

Merry Tuesday, :)

Peachy Day, Upside Down

Yes, it is Easter! A joyous day in the Christian faith!
" 1On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " 8Then they remembered his words." Luke 24: 1-8
Just thinking about it give me chills. And today was a beautiful Easter day! But...I didn't get to go to church. I hardly got to spend any of it with my family. I didn't get to dress up in a new pretty Easter dress. I didn't get to hide Easter eggs for any children. I didn't get to sing praises to my Lord in church.
I. played. volleyball.
Easter Sunday. THE most important holiday in the Christian year! And I got to do NOTHING to celebrate it. I was going to celebrate it at my aunt and uncle's church in Atlanta but those plans were shot due to the fact that I had to be at the venue at 10:00 a.m.! I was livid. No, I still am livid! I can not believe someone is so brainless to schedule the most important tournament in the south on EASTER WEEKEND! No maundy Thursday service, no Good Friday service, and no Easter service! Dumbfounded. There must be athiests running this event.I just could not believe it. The least they could do was give us time to go to church or something. But nope. Nothing. What's next? School on Christmas??
So as my day was already "fabulous", I WAS planning on going to church with my aunt and uncle. Not only was today Easter but today they were doing a special prayer for my aunt and some of her friends who are going to INDIA for a mission trip (but we can't call it "mission" as they aren't allowed to have missionaries over there!). They are leaving today (in 45 minutes to be exact.). I was going to go with them to church to pray for my brave aunt but sorry, no can do. I'll share more about my aunt in a minute.
Well after we lost our games (badly) and "reffed" the next games, it was time to leave and go home. 4 hours later I arrive to my house only to my suprise to see my grandmother (both of them) and my papa! I am very close with my grandmother on my mom's side and I don't get to see her a lot so it was a very pleasant suprise! But truthfully, these suprises always make me a bit sad because I know she has to leave later and then we won't see each other for a while. And of course as she leaves I can't help but cry about her leaving, leaving my aunt and uncle who I don't see a lot, leaving my aunt especially as she prepares for this amazing trip, not playing two really great games during volleyball today, tomorrow going back to school, and of course, not being able to celebrate Easter at my church. I know y'all must think I'm a whiney baby. I'm not going to make excuses for myself but today was a sad day for me. (So I'm guessing watching Passion of the Christ would NOT be a godd idea for tonight...)
Now, after that venting, I'm sure y'all are dying to read more about my aunt's trip! (That is if your eyes aren't bleeding yet from all this type.) Well she is travelling to somewhere outside Dubai to one of her friend's house. After becoming a Christian in college, she moved form her church in Atlanta to India and has adopted 46 Indian orphans into her home and has raised them as (as my aunt puts it,) "on fire" Christians. How cool is that?? My aunt and a few more people from her church are going over to give them supplies and to encourage their friend and praise her for her work. My aunt will be gone for two weeks. She is so brave. I admire her so much. She has a great heart, an undying love for God, and a great personality that makes everyone love her! She is super smart, funny, and beautiful! (Though she may not belive it sometimes.) She is a great mother, friend, aunt, sister, and daughter of Christ (and her parents of course!). She will have a great time and will be safe, I know! She is going to come back with so many stories that will have enriched her life and many others. So please keep her and her friends in her prayers, I know she will be in mine!
Warm greetings from :),
P.S. Aunt Lisa, If you are reading this, then I love you and I hope you put me in your will after this! hahahahahahaha. Just kidding. :) Love you.

Peaches in the morning

Good morning all! Hope everything is well. Good news! I have the afternoon wave in Big South playing times so I get to sleep in! (Is that a hallelujah chorus I hear?) So this post is coming in early. What to blog about? What to blog about? Well I'm hear in Atlanta with my aunt, uncle, cousin, and mother. I have just about the cutest, 8-year old cousin in the world. She like Barbies, horseback riding, and playing with her favorite cousin, Alex. Oh and did I mention STAR WARS?? Yes, Star Wars. Her daddy has gotten her addicted to Star Wars. So addicted that she could give real intense Star Wars fanatics (the cloak wearing, Yoda speaking, saber battling fanatics) a run for their money. She knows every detail of every movie (all 6 of them). She knows what hand Obi Wan held his saber in with battling with Geonocious in movie whatever. The color of the robe some jedi guy is wearing in a battle in movie whatever, stuff like that. She knows. And trust me, I've tried to get her into princesses and "girly" things but no, it's Star Wars she likes. I blame society. We put so much pressure on the individual. What happened to blending in? Uniformity? Letting someone else think for you? Now everyone wants to be an "individual" and wants to "think for themselves" and all that junk. Who wants that?? Well sadly, I'm not sure there is a way to bring her back to the "good side", which I guess is fine. She is a great, funny, out-going, smart, child of Christ and is undeniably GORGEOUS! She is going to grow into a awesome teenager and a wonderful lady. With saying that, she has a very scary dad who is armed with more than 2...3...5 or so guns and is NOT afraid to use them...a lot. So paws off boys!
Wishing you a very joyous Easter,

The Peach State

Everything must have a beginning. Yes, a very corny statement. (wait, must go get coffee...) Ah, much better. Now let's see if we can start this off better.
So, welcome to the Peach State! The authentic Georgia blog! Written by a Georgian teen with a blogging crazy aunt standing over her shoulder with a knife DEMANDING she create a blog...No, just kidding. But for some odd reason she's under the impression that I have an "interesting" life and that 15 year olds are "fascinating". She has been pushing me to start a blog for a while. (so you're welcome auntie!) Now, I'm sure y'all are DYING to know what is the first blog post going to be about?! Politics? Religion? News? School, maybe? BOYS?? No. Volleyball. Yes, volleyball. Pretty much awesome. And not just your rinkey-dink school volleyball. I'm talking high intensity, more developed, more difficult CLUB volleyball! Today was a big tournament. No, THE big tournament! Big South Qualifier. Today, teams from all over the country came to Atlanta, Georgia to play on over 100 courts for a big title (or something important like that). Over 800 teams and 12,000 girls are flocking our city. I know what you're thinking, "Wow, parking must be horrible!" Yes, yes it is. BUT more importantly it's a great time to have fun and play some great volleyball against some great teams. "Yeah, big woop!" But it was lots of fun! My team and I played teams from Alabama, Carolina (not sure which one, and Colorado! We all played really well and did pretty good (though we lost our games, we had good scores though!). And all it took was a couple cups of coffee and 5 hours of playing time! AND...we get to do it all over again tomorrow! But because I love it so much, it makes it all worth it...until 9 hours later and your body aches of sunburn and volleyball pains and you are over tired and worked and you know you get to do it all over again tomorrow, and the next day. Suddenly it becomes less fun for some reason...
So how's that for a first blog post? Did I bore you? Made you laugh? Cry? Any other side effects? Leave me a comment so I can get some input...or get discouraged and quit...just kidding. No turing back now. The blog is here to stay (yes, my auntie will be checking...). So thanks for reading! Hope your life is peachy keen! (Every blog needs a corny slogan! Send me some ideas if you have any.)
Sincerely,
